Applying for Ordinary Membership

Ordinary members pay a yearly subscription. They are entitled to vote, to stand for committee positions and to put themselves forward as walk leaders.

Probationary members who have completed a New Member Induction  and 4 other Club walks, excluding training walks, may apply for Ordinary membership.

Probationary membership may be renewed as often as necessary until the requirements to upgrade to ordinary membership have been fulfilled. The Club does not impose a time limit.

Please contact the Registrar, who will advise you of the correct amount of fees due, if any,  on upgrading.

  1. Check your walk history on the website to determine if you have completed the necessary walks.

  2. Advise the Registrar you want to apply by sending an email to

    registrar@brisbanebushwalkers.org.au

  3. The Registrar will verify your eligibility and determine the fee to be paid to bring your membership in line with the Club’s membership year, based on the expiry
of your current Probationary membership. Pay the fee advised by the Registrar by direct deposit.

  4. The Registrar will then update your membership record to 'Ordinary' and notify you by email.  You can also check this when you log on to the website. Please allow 1-2 weeks.
