The base camp is the Green Mountains campsite in Lamington National Park. A couple of hours is spent wandering around the campsite and the O'Reilly's resort, looking for photographic opportunities with the birds and other animals that are out and about (without scaring them away). Later, whilst having breakfast, a discussion will decide on which local graded track walks to walk - the preference being for short ones, to take advantage of any photographic opportunities that may arise. Being around the campsite in the late Saturday afternoon may well present more photographic opportunities.
